If you are new to programming I would encourage you to be skeptical of this argument. Maybe this is a good idea for certain projects, maybe not. There are lots of strong opinions like this in the world of programming. I've been programming for about 8 years and I think this is a terrible argument. CRUD APIs are simple, powerful, and extremely popular. Stay curious :)
